Welcome to the HCCRC Scheduling System

Welcome to the HCCRC Scheduling Application

The HCCRC (Harvard Catalyst Clinical Research Center) Scheduling Application is a web-based tool to streamline scheduling of research subjects for visits/admissions across all HCCRC institutions. The scheduling application allows principal investigators and study staff to have a more transparent view of resource availability, and reduces the amount of time CRC staff must spend making appointments for study subjects.

Scope of the application

The scheduling application is intended for scheduling and reporting purposes. Although many details about studies will be entered into the system for scheduling purposes, it is not intended as a study project management system. Study staff should continue to maintain independent records of their projects and tasks.

Harvard Catalyst Clinical Research Center (HCCRC)

The Harvard Catalyst Clinical Research Center (HCCRC) program provides infrastructure support that allows investigators to perform cutting-edge human research and facilitates human interdisciplinary research across a spectrum of research areas. The HCCRC consists of Human Research Centers at four Harvard Catalyst Institutions:

  • Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
  • Brigham and Women's Hospital
  • Children's Hospital Boston (including a satellite center in Waltham)
  • Massachusetts General Hospital

At each center, resources are available to support clinical research activity within dedicated human research center space and in other units of the hospital, such as the intensive care units and the emergency departments.

Scheduler is now open source and available for other institutions to adopt.

Available resources include:

  • Dedicated in- and outpatient facilities to conduct clinical research studies
  • Specialized research equipment to enable sophisticated physiologic subject monitoring
  • Equipment and expertise to enable experimental drug delivery and monitoring
  • Controlled environment test areas for specialized studies such as sleep and neurological testing
  • Experienced research nurses and technicians to conduct study protocols
  • Metabolism and nutrition research services including skilled dieticians, metabolic kitchen and body composition assessment
  • Specimen processing
  • Core laboratory to assay a wide variety of analytes in patient samples
